What Is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a surgical procedure that removes excess folds of skin in the upper lids and pouches under the eyes (lower lids). Whether to improve your appearance, your vision, or both, reconstructive surgery usually produces a very pleasing effect and gives you a more rested, youthful look. Sometimes, blepharoplasty is accompanied by a procedure known as a brow lift. Blepharoplasty can be performed on one eyelid or on both. These procedures are generally performed by a plastic surgeon.

Red spots on skin - Cherry angiomas

Red spots on the skin may be due to several causes. One type which is fairly common, especially on the chest, abdomen, and sometimes the face is the cherry angioma. These red spots are frequently multiple and often run in families. These are small, round bright red skin spots which can enlarge and become bluish with time if they become large enough. If the actual diagnosis of the red skin spot is cherry angioma, it is not likely to ever be a medical problem. Sometimes cosmetic removal is desired. Removal of these red skin spots is easily performed using electrosurgery - a minor surgical procedure during where a special electrical needle-like instrument is used to remove the angioma.
